Required Forms & Documents
- Application for Gas/Fire Permit
- Notice of Commencement (1 copy signed and recorded): Any improvement for which the direct contract price is greater than $5,000. If part of a larger permit (i.e. commercial building), it may be included on the NOC for the whole project. Must be submitted prior to scheduling the first inspection.
- Drawings: Site plan to show where tanks will be placed and a floor plan showing where piping is being hooked to (e.g., appliances)
Fees
At Time of Application
- Building Flat: $90
- Surcharge: $4
Note: Payments by check should be made payable to either "CCBCC" or Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners. Payments are also accepted by Mastercard or Visa credit or debit cards.
Licenses That Can Pull This Permit Type
- Owner-Builder: Not more than $75,000 in cost. Must not rent or sell the property within one (1) year of completion of the permit.
- Certified Liquid Petroleum Gas Qualifier
- Certified Master Plumber (cannot install tanks; can only install piping)
Department Reviews
- Intake/Sufficiency: A review of the application and its required documents to verify completeness for acceptance and payment of initial fees
- Fire: Ensure that the proposed structure or component will comply with the National Fire Prevention Code (NFPA)
- Plumbing
Inspections
- Dependent upon the project location and scope of work. Inspections will show on job card.
